On Thursday 10th May, six students from Year 9 and 10 had the exclusive opportunity to see ‘Motown the Musical’ at the Shaftsbury theatre. As we arrived, we were given our tickets and found ourselves seated in the Royal boxes. This trip gave the students the opportunity to experience what theatre is like and begin to explore some of the origins of the music that they know and love now. The theatre trip was a unique learning experience that enabled the students a BBAB to explore ways to express themselves through acting, singing and dancing. Although the song featured in the show were far before their time, they still enjoyed singing along to classics such was ‘Mr postman’, ‘My Girl’ and ‘Dancing in the street’.
