Due to the extreme weather conditions, resulting in school closure, BBAB celebrated slightly belated World Book day celebrations this year.
On Wednesday staff and students dressed as book characters for the day; with appearances from, among others, the Cat in the Hat, Red Riding Hood and the Wolf, Goldilocks, Harry Potter, Dobby the House Elf, Veruca Salt, Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, Roy Rogers, The Druid King, The Queen of Hearts, The Boy in the Dress and a Minion.
Students took part in tutor time quizzes and activities across the three days challenging their knowledge on all things bookie. Students viewed the range of WBD books available and received their WBD book tokens. Prizes of books and goodies were won by both staff and students for those who embraced all things bookie.
The focus in English lesson was story writing with year tens writing their own masterpieces from story starters. While year nine created Story Chains, finishing off each other’s stories from only seeing the last written line; resulting in some interesting tales. All completed work will form part of our printed and bound Bromley Beacon Academy WBD 2018 Memory Book, copies will be available in school for students, parents, visitors and staff to view.
